I got paid today, thank goodness. I had 4000 yen in my bank account and I thought I'd get charged an overdraft limit if one of my bills got deducted automatically.

It's another long weekend, so I can't complain too much, but I am freezing. I had no idea Nagasaki could get this cold. I've been abusing the crap out of my air-con/heater every morning; I just can't get out of bed otherwise.

The point of this post is really to whine about how badly I want to buy 街へいこうよーどうぶつの森 (Animal Crossing for Wii), but I don't actually have a Wii yet. It's on my list of things to buy, along with a kotatsu, printer/scanner and DVD recorder. The problem is, I'm broke! I really don't know where all my money goes, because I have nothing to show for it. Also, it seems like I've been wearing the same old clothes (desperately need a new wardrobe).

Anyway, back to the game... I've been watching the commercials on TV for it and you can get a bundle which includes WiiSpeak so you can talk to each other when playing!

I also bought NEWS' new album, 'COLOR'. I'm kind of disappointed with it, because the only songs I really like on it are 'weeeek', 'SUMMER TIME' and 太陽のナミダ (taiyou no namida), which I've already heard! NEWS' 'pacfic' album was so much better. Meanwhile, I am totally loving 'Beautiful days'(嵐) and admit to have totally enjoyed singing 真夜中のシャドーボイ (mayonaka no shadow boy - Hey! Say! JUMP) at karaoke.

My 3rd year students told me that KAT-TUN would be on Music Station tonight (Thaaaaanks, kids!). :D They performed their new single, 'White X'mas', which I really love, even though it was kind of a dodgy performance. I already pre-ordered the LE edition as soon as I knew it was coming out. Jin looked smoking hot as usual, but what surprised me was seeing Junno's jet black hair. It makes him look so pale. I definitely prefer brown hair on him. I wonder if he's had it for a while and I've just been really out of the KT loop. I used to check the community everyday, but lately I've been so busy with karate and studying for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. Ergh. I need to study right now!

Spending all my money

So far I've been really good in keeping all my promises from the last post, except for the running that is. I haven't gone in over a week. The weather has become ridiculously warm lately and I know it's no excuse but I just can't bring myself to go running in the sweltering heat. *insert more whinging* I've started to eat smaller portions of food though, which is good. My goal is to lose 5kg before I go home to Sydney.

Speaking of home, my mother told me about a week ago that she and my brother Ben are coming to Japan in the beginning of June. A few days ago I found out that my whole family is coming now. I put in an application for leave but my manager was being really lame and said she has to wait for the regional manager to approve it before it goes through- total BS. I'm planning to meet them in Kyoto where I'll stay with my family for a few days before we go back to Yokohama together and spend a day or so there before they go home. My mother seems really keen on seeing my apartment and keeps hinting that she wants the whole family to stay with me. She doesn't seem to understand that it's hardly big enough for two people, let alone five. -_-;

I've been spending a lot of money, which is bad. I'm supposed to be going on a holiday with Lisa to Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand at the end of this year so I should be saving money. In Japan, pretty things are expensive and if I want something, I buy it. In Sydney I didn't have a lot of money so I didn't spend much, but over here I can't seem to hold myself back.

Behold my lastest purchase- white strappy shoes )

Also, I finished reading The Harsh Cry of the Heron, the fourth and final book of the Otori series by Lian Hearn and I must say I was quite disappointed. The plot was drawn out to the extent that I was half-asleep for most of the book and the climax came too late so the ending was completely rushed. There were too many characters and not enough development, great ideas introduced that didn't go anywhere and an unsatisfying conclusion. I'm kind of regretting the fact that I bought it; it's not worth reading again. I really enjoyed reading the first three books, though. She should have kept it as a trilogy.
